Protection
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
Psalm 91:1 (KJV)

Ensuring God's Protection - Gloria Copeland
"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]" (Psalm 91:1).
Once you know from God's Word that divine protection belongs to you, there are some conditions you must keep to activate that protection in your life. The Word of God makes these conditions very clear.
You can find the first one at the beginning of Psalm 91, He who abides in the secret place of the Most High shall remain fixed under the shadow of the Almighty.
If you are to enjoy God's protection, you're going to have to abide in Him. To abide means to dwell in. It is a word that implies not a temporary situation but a permanent dwelling place - the place where you make your home. It doesn't indicate a coming in and going out but a continual dwelling under God's shadow.
What does it take to become an abider? Putting God's Word in your heart, for one thing. In John 15:7, Jesus said, "If you live in Me - abide vitally united to Me - and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will and it shall be done for you."
The truth that is alive in your heart is the truth that you act on every day. It doesn't come from simply reading a scripture once, shouting hallelujah, and going on. It comes from knowing the Word so well that it comes to your thinking instantly in a crisis situation. Truth comes alive in you when you think about it, meditate on it and apply it to your life, so at the moment of danger, the Word of God is your first thought.
Abiding under the shadow of the Almighty is the result of spending so much time in the Word of God and in His presence that His truth governs your actions without even a conscious thought. If you want to be an abider, you can't afford to simply get into the Word for a while and then quit. You need to be consistent. Stay in the Word day after day after day. Take the ninety-first Psalm into yourself daily until it becomes engrafted in your heart.
Remember this: it's the Word you act on today that will get you delivered. It's not what you heard last year. It isn't even what you know. It's what you do. Keep yourself full of God's Word and you will do it.
If that sounds like a tall order to you, let me promise you something. For every minute you invest in the Word of God you'll get back a hundredfold in health, faith and deliverance. You'll never regret a second of it.
Promise of Protection - Kenneth E. Hagin
Read Psalm 91
Paul said, in writing to the church, "Ye are God's husbandry, garden, farm, ye are God's building" (1 Cor. 3:9).
That means we belong to God. Now, if you have a building worth anything, even your own home, you are going to protect it every way you possibly can. And God, in His Holy Word, has promised us protection. I think the greatest such promise is Psalm 91.
Many years ago, I read Psalm 91 from a Swedish translation. I found that Verse 10 translated in the King James Version as "There shall no evil befall thee" was translated in the Swedish version as, "There shall no accident overtake thee." I researched it and found that this meaning is, indeed, included in the original text. I then claimed this protection.
Some years later, I did some checking and found that I had driven nearly two million miles preaching the Gospel without having a single accident! Understand, I'm not bragging on my driving; I'm bragging on the Word - Psalm 91.
Verse 10 continues, "Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling." I claimed that part of the verse, as well as Verse 11: "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."
God has made promises and provisions for us. If our faith is not in God's promises, we live way beneath our privileges.

Understanding the Magnitude of God's Protection - Creflo A. Dollar
Two of the most exciting verses on protection in all of Scripture are found in Isaiah 43:1-2: "But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passes through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walks through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."
Here is truly good news. Not only does God's protection extend to keeping you from being consumed by disaster, violence, sickness, or financial collapse, it will keep you from being affected by any of those things in the slightest way. When you walk through a fiery trial, not only will you not be burned, you will not even come out smelling like smoke.
Notice what this verse does not say: It does not say you will not go through the fire. Some Christians have come to believe they should never have to face a trial or a problem. They are in for a big surprise! Trials and troubles are going to come as long as we are in this world. Jesus told us to expect them (John 16:33).
No, Jesus never promised that we would not have problems. However, He did promise that we could be victorious over them because He already has overcome the world. I do not know what kind of "fire" you may be going through right now, but God said you could walk through it without even being singed.
You can walk through crises without even any signs of worry. You can walk through trouble with no extra gray hairs, no ulcers, and no headaches. You can walk through a tidal wave of difficult times and come out dry as a bone.
Notice what else the passage in Isaiah tells us. In it, God said, "I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine." Imagine that! God has laid claim to you.
Suppose you went outside and found someone bothering your child. In a flash, you would be there, saying, "No, Sir! This is my child. To get to her (or him), you will have to come through me!"
When the reality that God feels that way about you sinks down into your spirit and becomes a part of your understanding, fear will have a very hard time getting a foothold in your life again. Knowing this will make you bold.
God has claimed you for His own possession, which means that He has taken personal responsibility for your care and protection. You will stay in that protection unless you choose to walk out from under it of your own free will.
Protection Through The Blood - Billye Brim
Our older son, Terry, had a peculiar incident his senior year at Panhandle State University in far western Oklahoma. Terry and his friends were cowboys. Terry had just rented a bedroom two days before from some other students to cut down on expenses.
That night there had been a lot of alcohol, girls, and music. Terry who was not partying just went to bed. About an hour later his room got very cold and dark. Slowly his twin bed with him in it rose about three feet off the floor.
These are his words as he described it to me: "I knew what it was. And I knew if I could say Jesus it would quit. But I felt literally paralyzed. I could have said anything but Jesus. It was like that part of my brain that could say Jesus was gone. But I kept trying. When I did get it out, the bed slowly came down."
Terry told a Christian professor he knew from the church he attended in Guymon. The teacher came in with him and they applied the Blood of Jesus over the mobile home. In the six months he had left to live there until graduation nothing like that happened again.
In teaching on the power in the Name of Jesus and the Blood of Jesus I have told this incident and asked how many have had a like experience. It seems to be rather common. But it is always the case—no matter what the demonic deception—that one can utter that Name and the devils have to flee as it is written (Mark 16:17; James 4:7).
Both of my sons made similar statements to this effect: It was amazingly easy to stop the demon activity. And since seeing how easy it was, demons have not been able to so frighten them. Both told me how they now use the Name of Jesus and the Blood of Jesus with their mouths morning and night over their families.
We recalled lots of other incidents.
Terry, who was a bull rider, remembered one close call when a gate failed to open properly and he was hung up in a chute with a violent bull. Someone who helped him get out said they didn't know how every bone in his body was not broken.
Terry knew why.
We always used Psalm 34:19,20: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken."
With almost daily confession of this Scripture, we brought up four very active children—even our daughter, Brenda, played basketball—without one broken bone. Chip recalled how we had him read Psalm 91 before every game. And talking about how I used to plead the Blood over his car, he said, "I wouldn't be alive if you hadn't done that."
I didn't push him for details because I really don't want to know.
Shelli, our oldest, is an anointed preacher and a singer. Brenda works in the administration of our ministry. They too are bringing up their boys and girls using the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of God.
Because of God's wonderful provision I know the joy of another Scripture. This is my own paraphrase, " I rejoice greatly that I find my children walking in truth..." (2 John 1:4).
It makes much sense to me that when I sought the Lord about the increase in satanic attacks and He began to give me the illumination about His Blood, the first thing He brought to my mind concerned families and loved ones.
For I seemed to sense the heart cry of parents all over the world who are bringing up children in these trying times. I was conscious of the desperate cry of mothers in inner cities, "What can I do? This neighborhood. The drugs. The gangs. How can I keep my child alive?"
I seemed to know they were crying out for knowledge of the power in the Blood of Jesus to overcome Satan and his demons.
