For those who honor Me I will honor.
1 Samuel 2:30 (NKJV)
Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ.

Honor
Written by Billy Joe Daugherty
God wants to honor you, but if you refuse to honor the things and people God honors, you will forfeit the honor He wants to bring into your life.
…Those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.
(1 Sam. 2:30)
God wants to honor you, but if you refuse to honor the things and people God honors, you will forfeit the honor He wants to bring into your life—respect, promotion, increase, and opportunities.
Galatians 6:7 says, "Do not be deceived. God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." If you sow honor into the lives of others, you will reap honor.
The movie Chariots of Fire was about a young man from Scotland who ran in the 1924 Olympics in Paris. After qualifying as the United Kingdom's representative for the 100-meter dash, he found out that this race was to be run on Sunday. As a devout Christian, he refused to run on the Lord's Day. He wanted his victory to be for the glory of God. Since he was the fastest runner in the world at that time, he would have won the Gold Medal. Great pressure was put upon him to run on Sunday, but he refused.
Another young man from the United Kingdom was to run a 400-meter race on another day. He had already won a Gold Medal, so he offered his spot in this race to Eric Liddell. Eric accepted, ran the 400-meter, and won the gold medal.
Before the race, a young Christian from America handed Eric a note. On it was scribbled, "1 Samuel 2:30, …'Those who honor Me I will honor.'"
In 1981, Chariots of Fire won the Academy Award for Best Picture. The story of Eric Liddell was told all over the world. He was honored for his commitment to God. You, too, can honor God by refusing to compromise your commitment to Him.
DECLARATION OF FAITH
I am honoring the Lord by obeying His Word. I am honoring those in positions of authority. God's honor comes to me because of the honor I have given Him.

Honor Fit for a King
Written by Lisa Bevere
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. (Rom. 12:10 ESV)
Honor was a common concept among warriors of old. Duels were held as a means to uphold and defend honor—honor of self and honor of others.
Today, it can be difficult to see people living in a manner that honors others, let alone God. Dreams, talents, bodies—all are dishonored and devalued in our world.
But as followers of Christ, we have a higher calling. We become valiant warriors for our Father when we honor the Lord and others. We look definitively different from those around us when we conduct ourselves in a manner of godly love and affection.
Outdo one another in showing honor.Meditate on this idea. What might that look like? How might others rise up as a result of our acting in ways that honor the body—our own and others'—when society doesn’t uphold God's standards? How can honoring Christ in our decision-making increase our influence for Him? How will our acting with noble character magnify our witness in a time when one’s word doesn’t mean as much as it did in eras past?
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor.
(1 Sam. 2:8 NIV)
Lest we forget our lineage, this verse reminds us we are inheriting a throne of honor. Let our heart and actions honor the Lord and others in a manner worthy of our inheritance.
If You Honor God, He Will Honor You
Written by Pastor Keith Butler
Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine" (Prov. 3:9-10).
To honor somebody means to give respect, reverence, or to pay tribute. Well, God is worthy to be honored, lifted up, respected, reverenced—and much more. One way to honor the Lord is with the first fruits of your substance.
Verse ten of our passage in Proverbs says, "…so shall your barns will be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst with new wine." In other words, if you honor God, God will honor you.
Now, Satan has done everything to make the body of Christ unhappy about giving in the offering. He wants you to see it as a chore rather than a way to minister and honor the Heavenly Father.
In Matthew 26:7, a woman ministers to the Lord by pouring very expensive ointment on His head. Now, this ointment was worth a year's wage. Now just think about that, she gave a whole year's wage.
But when the disciples saw what she did, they were indignant and thought it was a waste of money. This precious ointment was very costly. They wanted to know the purpose of this waste. They felt like saying, "Lady, you could have use that for something else. You could have bought a brand new donkey, or a house, or some clothes."
Satan says the same thing to us today. When you get your yearly statement, which shows you what you gave to the church, the devil says to you, "What is the purpose of this waste?"
Has the devil ever talked to you like that? When Deborah and I first got married, our yearly income was less than $6,000 a year.
We had all these bills and a little bit of money. Well I'm looking at this $6,000 yearly income and I'm thinking that's $600 in tithes—wow! However, we had already made a decision that we would minister unto the Lord with our substance first, and that's what we did.
Yes, that expensive ointment might have been sold for much and given to the poor, but Jesus didn't think so. He said the woman did a good work and wherever this gospel is preached, what this woman did shall be told as a memorial to her.
And here we are, over 2000 years later, still talking about this woman. God honored her because she honored Him. And he will do the same for you.
