 Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to us on the day of Pentecost. (Acts 1 & 2)

We can not ignore the third person of the trinity any longer, we must as the body of Jesus Christ rise up and take Him to the nations on the world!

1 Corinthians 12 (KJV) -Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Unity of the Trinity

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same (Holy) Spirit.

There are 9 different gifts given by the Trinity, they are very distinct and different.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord (Jesus).

There are different ways to give the gifts of the ministry of the Holy Spirit, laying on of hands, speaking life over the person, prayer of faith, etc… Different ways to administer different Holy Spirit Gifts.

3 Ways

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God (The Father) which worketh all in all.

7 But the the manifestation (GK = Expressions of Love/God made visible) of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

Remember all these gifts or supernatural this is very important understand.

9 Gifts

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit (TRINITY), dividing to every man severally as he (The Trinity) wills.

Three revelation gifts - Spiritual gifts that reveal something:

The word of wisdom

The word of knowledge 

The discerning of spirits

Three power gifts - Spiritual gifts that do something:

The gift of faith - 

The working of miracles 

The gifts of healings

Three utterance or inspirational gifts - Spiritual gifts that say something:

Prophecy

Divers kinds of tongues 

Interpretation of tongues

These very often work together to bring the desired result the Holy Spirit wants to bring.

The Revelation Gifts - Say something

The word of wisdom - (Knowing the future and future events only revealed by the Holy Spirit) God supernaturally speaking to people about their divine future and purpose by the anointing of God. The person delivering the gift has no way of knowing the persons future. It will bring comfort and bear witness with the receivers heart when it is right.

Acts 9:10-16, 8:26-29; Acts 11:28-30, 21:10-11; 2 Kings 20:1

The word of knowledge - (Knowing the past and the present) God supernaturally speaking to people about the knowledge of their past to bring complete healing and restoration for their future.

Acts 9:10-12, 10:9-20; 1 Kings 19:2-18; 2 Kings 5:25,26; 1 Samuel 9:3-20, 10:21-23

The discerning of spirits - God supernaturally giving people insight to the spirit world, for the purpose of bringing healing, protection and the will of God.

Exodus 33:20-23, Acts 16:16-18

The Power Gifts - Do something

The gift of faith - Not natural human faith. God gives a supernatural endowment of faith to a person to believe for the impossible. He honors their word as his own, any miraculously brings it to pass.God supernaturally comes on people to deliver signs and wonders.

1 Corinthians 12:9, Daniel 6:16-23: 1 Kings 17:2-6

The working of miracles - God supernaturally intervenes and interrupts nature to bring about His desired result.

Ephesians 2:8; Romans 12:3; Galations 5:22,23; 1 Corinthians 12:9

The gifts of healings - God supernaturally brings healing to the sick and destroys the works of the devil in the human body.

Matthew 10:8; Acts 28; Acts 10:38; John 14:10; Luke 4:18

The Inspiration Gifts - Reveal something 

The gift of prophecy - God supernaturally gives words to a person in a known tongue to speak forth words of edification, exhortation and comfort. God could use this gift to give you for your own life or for another others life. Prophecy means to speak for another - It means to speak for God or to be His spokesman.

1 Corinthians 14:1-5; Acts 21:8-11; 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21

The gift of divers kinds of tongues - God supernaturally gives a person a language that they have never learned or cannot understand. This language is not always understood by the hearer.  (The gift of speaking different languages)

Mark:15-18

The gift of interpretation of tongues - God supernaturally gives a person the understanding and meaning of tongues that have been spoken out by another speaker that they don’t understand or comprehend in the natural relm. (The gift of interpreting is a supernatural ability to understand and translate languages)

Why do we need the Gifts of the Holy Spirit?

Are these Gifts of the Holy Spirit important to us today?

These gifts are essential for a church to be strong and healthy. It's a whole dimension of Jesus that people rarely study and realize that it's in the Bible, and it is for them today.

But from a historical point of view the gifts have never diminished, we have the gift of the Holy Spirit since the day of Pentecost in the earth all these years.

The next great revival to come to planet earth, Will be the revival of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit the third person of the Trinity, at that point in time will have made a complete circle and we will see all that happened in the acts of the apostles happen again.

There are 27 Verses about water baptism are in the Bible, and not one of these verses tells us how to conduct water baptism.

There are 28 Verses about Communion in the Bible, and not one verses tells us how to conduct the Holy communion of Jesus Christ.

What did the membership of the Corinthian Church look like.

I WANT YOU TO SEE THAT EVERYONE OF US CAN BE USED OF GOD.

Paul describes the people of Corith before they came to Christ to give you a picture of who the membership was at the church at Corith.

Read 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

11 Some of you used to live in these ways,

GREEK - THIS IS WHO YOU ONCE WERE.

11 But you are different now; you have been washed clean, HOLY set apart, restored, and set on the right path in the name of the Lord Jesus, the Anointed, by the Spirit of our living God.

2 Corinthians 5:17

17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

They were now experiencing the love and grace of God and ALL of these manifestations are the Holy Spirits gifts.

Peter knew what the Gifts of the HS looked like, they are visible and he says every man, woman and child has already received them:

1 Peter 4:10

As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold, (GREEK WORD here means - you are diamond faceted) - there are many different manifestations and many different flavors of grace of God on our lives. God says here that we can all be used to other peole, God wants to help other people by using us to help them.

Greek word for Grace is - Charis -the empowering touch of God that always comes with some type of visible demonstration and manifestation.

Paul said the grace of God is the empowering presence of God that changes us.

Every man has received the Gift = GREEK -Charis = Grace given gift - this verse says every man, every woman, every believer in Christ - does not matter who you are if you are in Christ you qualify.

Are the Holy Spirits Gifts visible - can you see them?

Acts 4:33

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

It was great grace - a mighty touch of God that was not silent but empowered them.

Barnabas going to the city of Antioch and when he came to the believers at the Antioch church and he describes what he saw:

Acts 11: 23

Who, when he came, had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted of them all, that with purpose of the heart they would cleave to the Lord.

Spiritual Gifts

12 Now, dear brothers and sisters, regarding your question about the special abilities the Spirit gives us. I don’t want you to misunderstand this.

1 Corinthians 12 (AMPC)

12 Now about the spiritual gifts (the special endowments of supernatural energy), brethren, I do not want you to be misinformed.

Paul is saying here - I’m going to make you smart concerning these Gifts of the Holy Spirit. -LET’S GET SMART! LETS’LET GOD USE US TO HELP THE WORLD!!

WHAT ARE THE GIFTS?

How to cooperate with the Holy Spirit

1. What is the purpose of the gifts of the Holy Spirit?

2. Does every believer have the potential to be used in the gifts of the Holy Spirit?

3. How do you find out which gift/gifts the Holy Spirt wants to operate through you?

4. What are the 3 steps necessary in operating in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit wants to demonstrate, manifest himself, if we only have teaching and don't let him move, we're hindering him from helping millions of people throughout the world, we have to have an open heart and open mind to let him help us help others for his glory.

Kenneth E. Hagin - Prophecy - 1977

There will come a time when were right on the threshold of it. When further revelation concerning the power of God and concerning how to activate faith will come.

Truth has been revealed. Truth and light and revelation in line with God's word comes as you teach the word and as you study the word, but there will come further revelation concerning the power of the Lord to heal and concerning faith to operate that power that it will seem as though the church almost immediately will rise up as a spiritual giant and there will be a release of power in our day and in our age that man has not seen before. There will be a revelation that will cause the church to rise up it will seem as though overnight.

That these people, men on the earth will walk and talk and act like God. And they will live in the power of God, motivated by his power, motivated by his Spirit.

Some will laugh and mock and religious people and even some that have been filled with the Spirit will say, "They think they are somebody come, they think their God!" No their not God, their only children of God, agents of God, ambassadors of God who have been sent to do the works of God.

1. What is the purpose of the gifts of the Holy Spirit?

2. Does every believer have the potential to be used in the gifts of the Holy Spirit? YES, That is why we are called Believers.

1 Peter 4:10

As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

3. How do you find out which gift/gifts the Holy Spirt wants to operate through you?

Ephesians 2:10

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

You are unique individual and you have a special function. Christ is living in you and He will manifest himself through you in the area that your personality tends to be dominated. For example, if you have more interest in healing then prophesying, the Holy Spirit MAY operate through you to manifest the gift of healing.

In other words, you have certain tendencies that come natural to you. These have been placed in you by the Spirit of God so that He can love and bless people.

4. What are the 3 steps necessary in operating the Gifts of the Holy Spirit with the Holy Spirits help. He loves us and wants to bless all of humanity.?

We need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirits presence through fasting, Prayer, fellow shipping with the Father and meditation in the Word of God.

1. First make the commitment to walk in the love of God.

JESUS TOLD US THIS IS THE GREATEST THING WE CAN DO - THIS IS OUR COMMITMENT TO PLEASE HIM SO HE CAN LOVE OTHERS

Matthew 22:36-40 (LB)

Apostle Paul told the Corithian Church the reason the gifts are manifesting is because of the love you have for God and your love to help other people. Paul is admonishing them here to stay walking in the love of God, and stay focused, so they can continue in operating in the gifts of The Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

The love of God must be your motivation and everything you do.

2. Maintain a teachable attitude to learn from the Holy Spirit.

Keep an open mind and heart so that the Holy Spirit can teach you how to operate in the gifts of the Spirit.

Isaiah 55:8-9

Don’t try to figure it all out, because you can’t.

3. And lastly yield yourself totally to God.

By humbling yourself under the Lord, you are placing yourself in a position to be used by God.

Jeremiah 33:3

3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

James 4:8

8 And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you.

God the Holy Spirit can only use someone who is submitted to him.

The Holy Spirit does the work, you are the vessel.

There is no need to be afraid of failure.

The gifts of the spirit are manifested by faith and God's love and power, not by confidence in our own ability.

The Working of Miracles and Provisional Miracles

1 Corinthians 12:31

But covet earnestly the best gifts . . .

1. What is the very best gift of all the Holy Spirit’s Gifts?

The very best gift of all the spiritual gifts is the gift needed at that particular time.

Every one of the gifts of the Spirit is miraculous; they are all supernatural.

1 Corinthians 12:7-11

God supernaturally intervenes and interrupts nature to bring about His desired result.

2. Where is the working of miracles mentioned in the bible?

Old Testament Examples Of the Working of Miracles

Aaron’s rod turned into a serpent, (Exodus 7:12)

God turned Water into blood (Exodus 7:14-24)

God turned common dust into insects. Lice (Exodus 8:16-19)

The sea divided (Exod. 14:15-31).

Elisha smote the Jordan River. (2 Kings 2:14)

Elijah and the Widow’s cruse kept flowing with oil (1 Kings 17:8-16).

Working of Miracles in the New Testament

Jesus turned water into wine by just speaking a word. (John 2:11)

Jesus took the little boy's lunch and fed five thousand with it (John 6:5-14).

The disciples even gathered up twelve remaining basketfuls when they were finished eating (John 6:13)!

The working of miracles is used to display God's power and magnificence. and thats in the provisional relm also.

Acts 5:12

And by the hands of the apostles were many SIGNS AND WONDERS wrought among the people . . . Remember these gifts belong to the church.

Acts 6:8

8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and MIRACLES among the people.

Acts 8:5,6

Hearing and seeing the MIRACLES which he did.

Acts 15:12

..declaring what MIRACLES and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

Acts 19:11

11 And God wrought special MIRACLES by the hands of Paul: 12

3. Why did God use Paul in the Working of Miracles?

1. Paul Loved God and He loved People. God would use him.

2. He expected the miracles and taught us to covet earnestly the best gifts needed at the time.

3. He expected God to come on the scene and back him up when he preached and taught the word of God. Just like God backed up Jesus.

Is the Gift of Working of Miracles Is for Us Today?

Someone may say to you, "But the working of miracles is not for us today." This is not what the Bible says, the Bible says Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (1 Corinthians 14:1)

I am thoroughly convinced that as we covet/yearn/crave spiritual gifts and earnestly desire them, they will be more in manifestation than they have ever been. But it is not going to come just because we sit around and talk about it and just wish we could see them in demonstration.

God said to desire the spiritual gifts. If someone really desires something, they are going to make some effort in that direction in order to see what they desires come to pass.

4. Can we pray and ask God for these gifts?

YES - AS LONG AS THERE IS PEOPLE WE WILL NEED TO PRAY FOR GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT TO BE MANIFESTED, THAT WAY GOD CAN HELP THEM.

Let’s pray and ask God to use us because we are hungry for miracles and to be used in the Holy Spirit’s Supernatural gifts. We don’t want our way of doing things. We want to be used the way the Holy Spirit will want to help people.

BECAUSE WE ARE BELIEVERS IN JESUS CHRIST - GOD EXPECTS US TO BE EXPECTING FOR HIM TO MOVE.

Let me encourage you as a believer to start praying for the fullness of the spiritual gifts to be in manifestation. This is a lifestyle of helping others around you.
